LCM uses a client-server model. Most of the work is done by the server (web and database), while clients can use LCM with the help of a standard compliant web browser. The server and client can also run on the same computer.

Server

- Apache 1.3.x or Apache 2.x;
- PHP >= 4.0.3 (not tested with PHP5, but it should work);
- MySQL >= 3.23.

Recommended

- PHP XML support (for utf8_decode) — lack of this function will not cause problems, only that it will allow less strict validation of the lenght of usernames and passwords;

- PHP 4.2.0 (for various security reasons).

Client

- A recent standards-compliant web browser, such as:

  • Mozilla Firefox >= 0.9;
  • Mozilla >= 1.6;
  • Safari (for MacOSX users);
  • Konqueror, Gnome-Epiphany, etc.;
  • We also try to support text-mode web browsers such as Lynx and Links.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer >= 5.5 might also work, but it is not recommended for various security reasons and non-standard compliance.
