Using PostgreSQL instead of MySQL

By default, LCM uses the MySQL database to store the information it manages. Since LCM 0.7.0, it is now possible to use other databases, such as PostgreSQL.

To activate:

  1. Before installing LCM, edit or create the file inc/config/my_options.php.
  2. Add the following code:

Make sure that there are no spaces before and after the “php” tags or you will get an error that “the headers have already been sent”.

Once this is done, you should be able to go through the LCM installation process.

Please note that, in the LCM 0.7.x branch, PostgreSQL support is still rather experimental. So far, tests have been made using only PostgreSQL 8.1. If you are interested in using LCM with PostgreSQL, if you encounter bugs or if you would like to contribute to the PostgreSQL port, do not hesitate to contact us on the developers mailing-list: legalcase-devel@lists.sf.net.
